Mumbai, Dec 4 With a view to control contamination, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday committed 26 cooled electric transports worked by Tata Motors to Mumbai's public vehicle framework, BEST. 


To confirm the solaces from the travelers' perspective, Thackeray jumped onto one of the electric transports and went on a short ride joined by different authorities. 


The Electric Bus Scheme is being executed under the Center's Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and EV (FAME) plot, started by the Union Ministry of Heavy Industry. 


Under FAME, 340 electric transports have been authorized of which 26 joined the Mumbai's BEST armada of public transports, within the sight of Mumbai Guardian Ministers Aslam Shaikh and Aditya Thackeray, Mayor Kishori Pednekar, BEST General Manager S.K. Bagde, Mumbai South MP Arvind Sawant and different dignitaries. 


Aditya Thackeray said that as of now 46 electric transports are running in Mumbai and the public authority will catch up to guarantee that a greatest number will be accessible in the coming days as they would support the climate. 


The stylish new transports, which can achieve paces of upto 75 kmph are outfitted with best in class offices including CCTVs, a few security highlights for ladies, youngsters or senior residents, and a lift for crippled travelers to enable them to board deboard.
